Haven't logged in in a while, so seeing this incompletely answered is an issue to me.

Officially, the NC voted that striking with the Flat of a weapon is not safe, and therefore is not legal in Darkon.

Really starting to look forward to this! I had the joy of listening to some of the tunes presented to Lady Kesrya and I think there is going to be exceptional ambiance. The food selection is amazing and there will be a lot of it!

Right. I was saying that we have a tradition of stuff hanging around from the dawn of time, and used the land map as an example.

If you don't want to touch the land map, how does the logic change when you examine individual players?

I didn't realize there were socks in them. Thankfully, I didn't hold them too close to my face to wonder what had died inside.

But that's not what our game is about. The game has memory. Countries that are 25 years old; the Land Map; personal prizes won at a campout a dozen years ago. These are part of what make Darkon an addicting and fun experience. The fighting is a strong part of what we do, but campouts and land events...

The rules for Black glaives make no sense to me. ... /end rant I agree. I made that point before the proposal was sent to senate, but was met with the kind of resistance you get when you try to tell someone that their baby needs a bath or a lesson in manners. Senators and EB voted it in though...

We had an average of 20 undeclared players at Darkon per event for the 2 years that I had access to the Darkon credits database.

You could also address a friendly neighborhood Noble, who will make fun of said unknowledgeable Noble until he reads the book again.

The trick is getting the rules so simple that they can be run themselves. Why do you think Two Teams is so common? The rules are so simple (Us vs them) that you don't even really need an Elder. There are so many nobles on the field most days that you can get the job done just using them.

I think that the simplification that Titus suggests makes sense. What happens if I have two different armors covered? A lot of times, my pants come down over my greaves. Is someone going to complain if my plate greaves are covered and so is my shark mail, but I only have a green armband on?
