Re: BeAe III
This has already been addressed on the Facebook, but I am throwing it up here as well. No one but Board of Directors members should be contacting site management, property neighbors, or anyone in relation to a site. If anyone has a question, contact the Board of Directors. That's what they're electe...

Re: Defining a Member Group
I also like Valfryn's idea. Many people consider themselves parts of guilds, retinues, and countries and there's a lot of overlapping with that. You can be a country member in a guild, who is also in a retinue. It's up to the player which role is primary to them, but they'd still hold position in th...

Re: A New Perspective on the Mage class within Darkon
As others have stated, I feel that archers (and missile weapons) will eat through casters with a multi-ball spell held. They won't be able to get rid of them fast enough to not get hit, or have to move (and end up getting disrupted).

Re: The Rogue 2.0
-As for the change from 24 to 6 hours, while a good idea, I just don't see it as the big sacrifice it's being labeled as. Perhaps in a world where Darkon ran campouts that started Friday night, lasted all night and ended around 1 am on Sunday. In reality, most campouts start after check in on Saturd...

Re: The Rogue 2.0
-I am going to weigh in on this, although I am sure to regret it. -In my opinion, assassination is the single most powerful ability in the game, and really doesn't fit in with the other abilities of the game. It's the only ability in the game that can seriously destroy a player's fun for an entire e...

Re: Defining and mandating a "field" at Darkon
I really don't think this is an issue of intentional griefing. Players take out the opponents that they think are most likely to tip the balance in their team's favor. It isn't more complex than that. The relics often shift around and people don't always realize that the same players are getting hit...

I'm pretty sure he means you just open your arms and take the arrow. Much as you could do with heavy armor, rather than blocking with weapons or anything at all.

Land events from yesterday
How are we handling land events for yesterday? Is the plan to double them up at the VA park? Or what will happen with that?
Thanks

Re: Blocking Arrows with Weapons
Holding a weapon between yourself and an archer might be done on the field, but I have always seen it as expoitation of the grey area involving the wording "intentionally blocked." It shouldn't be encouraged. The original clarification effectively gives everyone missile deflection as long ...

Re: Blocking Arrows with Weapons
If you're standing there and an arrow happens to hit your weapon, no problem. If you see the archer and then position your weapon in between yourself and the direction of the archer, then that's blocking. Especially if you're turning axes or hammers sideways to cover more of you. That again is block...

Re: Open Cavalier Class
They're not an issue when there's only a few of them with unique hurdles to achieve it. Opening the floodgates on them might be excesive. They're not ridiculously OP, but I don't think half the fighters on the field (or more) should suddenly gain all of these abilities.

Re: Open Cavalier Class
--The changes recently made to allow Order of the Sword winners to become cavaliers are very new. I think that opens the door to allow non-nobles to become cavaliers while keeping the class unique and special for those who earned it in the ways of old. I think we should gauge how that goes before do...

Re: Clerics are overpowered-Discussion
I would think the armor changes did a bit to nerf clerics . It's harder to kill to armor with a yellow chained weapon now. Monks and Druids now get a head shot. A 5oz piece of leather blocks a shot. Flail and tower shield isn't quite as powerful as it used to be. White/red sword and shield looks to ...

Re: Getting rid of Guild Masters making poison
I think we need to take a serious look at neutering the effects of assassination, not looking at ways to make it more difficult to avoid. It's the one ability that can destroy someone's fun for the weekend. People spend money on costumes, props, and gear for the character they want to play and then ...

Re: Open Discussion: Optional Armor/garb and stacking of eff
I think my concern with this would be the fact that it seems like a baby step towards the removal of headband armors all together. Once these classes had the ability to wear armor, it seems like it wouldn't be long before the anti-headband folks would be pushing to remove them. Having both headband ...

"Mages: Unlimited REPAIR/DEFENSE (mend/charge/gaseous form) spells as per character level, offensive spells cost normal points. NO Giant Growth." What about Stoneskin/ Steelskin? As it's adventure, it would need to be recast, but it says unlimited defense. Just wondering where this would f...

Re: Discussion - Conflict of Interest in Bylaws
I don't have a solution, but I do have a question. While NC members can serve as Senators, is this currently happening? I know that I have not done so and I'm curious how often it is actually happening. Is it often enough that it would be a concern if they weren't able to going forward?

Re: Proposal - Spell Disruption
The above works. I just want to avoid "moves" by itself as taken literally it could cover just about anything. I've seen things in Darkon translated to mean things they were never meant to mean a few years after they're printed. I'd like to avoid that here if we're changing it anyway.

How about..." If the caster speaks, fights, takes a step before the spell is 'held', is moved by another participant, or is hit by a weapon (including shafts) or spellball before completing the invocation line, the spell is negated and the spell points are forfeited. If the caster wishes,he may...

I know this being picky, but I don't like the word "move" in the sentence "If the caster speaks, fights, moves, or is hit by a weapon (including shafts) during spell casting, the spell is negated and the spell points are forfeited." Technically the way this is written if I turn t...

I think people should have the freedom to re-invent their character if they switch countries, want to try something new RP-wise, or something of that nature. Many people have done this over the years. What I don't like the idea of is me being able to come out as Exodus the high level cleric one even...

Re: Change in how land action declarations are handled
I think the issue with this is that as the rule was written, land searches were not considered the same type of actions as wars/ invasions. No one cares if people are land searching. People want to know and should know with 2 weeks notice if they're preping for war. There is a rule existing stating ...
