Re: Defining a Member Group
Correct; member group that chooses not to place on the map cannot play the land metagame independently but certainly may join another member group that is placed on the map (as mercs, nomads, etc). Rathgar, no, the possibility that one could obtain two senate votes is considered: "Member Groups...

Re: Physical Coin transactions proposal
Correct, banking of the time would depend on the banker; be it Templars, merchant houses, or religious sects, having assets in both locations where said banking was to occur. Trouble with a 'Templar' solution to the Darkon banking issue is that it appears countries may only designate a single castle...

...However, let's be honest: The nations of the past primarily made payment to each other in precious metals--sometimes coin and sometimes not.... ...Especially because the history of this game has shown us that letting it all happen OOC on Excel spreadsheets has exactly zero fun potential... Re: Physical Coin transactions proposal
Interesting idea; to force caravan land actions, but I disagree with the concept entirely based on historical precedence, Darkon fantasy mechanics, and game burden. Historically, the concept of banking; deposits, withdrawals, bank notes, money conversion, loans, interest, insurance, futures markets,...

Re: Scroll Potion Poison Change
I thought this was to be removed: "Also note that the participant may not make potions or scrolls while Eldering or acting as an NPC" I believe that leaving this restriction in discourages players from volunteering to elder or NPC. Do we truly wish to make rules that actively discourage vo...

Re: Physical Coin transactions proposal
So what you are saying is that you want to see some sort of caravan leave the capital of one country and goto the capital of the other to deliver the money? Heh, I would require that all mason guilds receive coin at my capital. Done. Why should a ruler have to cart coin around for their hirelings?

While I agree that some situations favor an AoE damage spell... but I just don't see many thrown during the course of an average day at Darkon.

Re: The Rogue 2.0
Regarding vote counts; I would ask that the Magistrate post the counts if available.
And I think what Zentor is saying isn't that the Assassin Guild Master is "assassinating themselves" so much as "having themselves assassinated" by another assassin.

I'd also let the other black-using classes just go ahead and have all of the black weapons now since shield break is limited to classes. But maybe make that proposal after this one succeeds (well, hopefully it does).

Re: The Rogue 2.0
I mean when we had a full senate the approval for it was huge, the smaller senate at the crown war wasn't exactly a fair representation. But what can ya do. Actually, support was slim in both Senates. Where this initially passed; it was passed by one country's votes. This ratio was maintained at th...

Re: Defining a Member Group
If it doesn't matter whether or not a country is on the land map... then what are the differences between a 'country' and a group of people that field four or more once every six battles and have surcoats, a banner, and an elder tunic? I think this is an argument of semantics more than mechanics. Th...

Severe consequences to whom? The person killed? Sorry but you are probably the only person in the world who thinks it. Speaking as a former guild master in an offshoot of this game, in a country full of thieves and assassins, if you * us off, you might as well pack it up come campout time. We had y...
