Assassin Revamp

Assassins are characters who train to be professional killers & masters of disguise. An Assassin has the same restrictions on armor, weapons, shields and costumes as the Thief, except the Assassin must carry a piece of 12" by 12” black cloth as a symbol of his character type in lieu of a sk...

Incoming Land Marshal

Hi everyone, I'll be taking office on July 1 and just wanted to say hello again. There is one change I need to make and that is to appoint assistants that can act on my behalf to handle land events etc if I am unable to attend. Please show them the same respect you'd show me since they are willingly...

all boats have the same movement rate, 12 points. Only differences are size, crew capacity, gun capacity and income

how do you determine which boat is faster? Is it based on the size of the vessel?

Re: Discussion - Siege Ladders/Scaling Ladders

its a discussion thread you can't really derail it.
I'm just surprised that given how long scaling ladders were used across human history that we don't have them. I get the resistance to the idea, but being able to use a ladder is one of the oldest siege techniques there is

Just put 1 elder to a ladder, that would prevent arguments.

Re: Discussion - Siege Ladders/Scaling Ladders

The idea would be that the people using the scaling ladders cannot be in anyway off the ladder, or they are not counted for the purposes of pushing it off. You didn't have both feet on the ladder, sorry but you don't count and have potentially fallen to the ground and taking lights to your legs unde...

Re: Hail, Warriors!

Any post here will usually net a response, what specifically do you want to know? We have a posted events schedule with links to the locations. My initial advice is for you to come to a darkon event and see what its all about in person. You'll meet alot more people that way.

Discussion - Siege Ladders/Scaling Ladders

I was discussing the finer points of darkon sieges with people yesterday and today in regards to how mending its sort of strong in terms of how fast it can fix gates. Suggestions were to nerf mending which i don't like. A friend of mine inspired the idea of an alternative solution today. This is a d...

Re: Who has oversight of the NC?

I do worry about that, but there is alot more transparency in terms of the EB than with the NC. In regards to being able to get records and such. I put up a proposal that I think covers things nicely, we can move this discussion there since this isn't a question anymore now that I've gotten a decent...

Discipline Transparency for countries & the NC

I propose the following be added to the bylaws Item 1 added under - Article V: The Noble Council, Item 8 Item 2 added under - Article III: Board of Directors, Item 2, Subsection b: Vice President as "viii" 1.) "The noble council will notify the Vice President, when a member of the cou...

Re: Who has oversight of the NC?

Article V, number 6 seems to disagree with you Inox. In fact the only senate oversight is when the NC approves a new weapon type. I haven't seen or heard of any issues, but this seems like its a dangerous situation given how the language of the bylaws goes. Part of my concern is also that the NC mak...

Re: Who has oversight of the NC?

nothing specific, nor do I have any examples. Was just reading over the rules and it struck me that there's really nothing in the rules about oversight of the NC in either the rules or the bylaws. Was curious, like do nobles even have a code of conduct beyond the normal ruleset?

Purchasing all beasts and non human monsters

Greetings to one an all, I will be brief, I have recently opened a new ludus and it will take me time to stock wares for the entertainment of the realm. To speed that process, I am offering a very reasonable price for any living animal, beast or non human monster brought before me. Should you need t...

1 year hold on rule changes

I've proposed that we hold off any rule changes for the period of 1 year to allow the game time to acclimatize itself, with itself. We've had alot of changes recently, let's slow down for a year.

Re: one year hold on rule changes

I'm not looking to prevent rule changes in the game, in fact I think rule changes reflect the ever evolving face of darkon. But I do think we need to slow the rate down for a little bit, let everything settle for a year. Nothing we've passed so far is game breaking, so I'm not concerned with not bei...
