Re: Expanding the Land Map

3) provide an additional (hefty) cost for established countries through whatever method the Senate sees fit. It would need to be impossible for older countries to access the new continent for a signficant period of time, not just expensive. Many of the older countries in Darkon could build a bridge...

Re: Expanding the Land Map

There should be multiple elders on hand to make sure that whoever gives the warmest, friendliest hugs gets the hex in the event of accidental double land searching.

Re: Expanding the Land Map

I am 250% against this proposal, FTR. This is a war game. War. If your country is desperate for new land and there's none left to search, there's plenty of it out there. This happens IRL, too, and IFL if one counts fantasy genres. Continents don't just spontaneously form when people fill up previous...

Re: Roleplaying - Bellum Aeternus

Had some decent RP with a few people. It was still very limited, as it usually is day events, but there were still more people actually roleplaying in this roleplaying game than I am used to. Doesn't help that my PC is largely non-genial, but ambassador duties give a good excuse to interact. Car was...

Re: Locking mechanism on siege weapons

If we know for a pact that a proposal passed, why does it keep getting bounced back to the Senate to be passed again?

We should not have to pay the price for other people's incompetence. It passed, it doesn't need to be passed again. Move it on through.

Roleplaying - Bellum Aeternus

There has been a strong push for more RP in Darkon lately, and I feel that this can be extremely healthy for the organization. According to the official website for the game, the Barn is being put aside primarily for roleplaying. Therefore, I will be completely IC at this location and anyone who tri...

FTR-

As someone heavily involved in the land map, I can state with certainty that Snudge is the most dedicated and professional land marshal we've had since I started playing.

I can't speak on any personal disagreements between EB members, but it may be best to keep them to private communications.

Re: Addressing Coin Inflation

There is no point in making it more difficult for countries to take actions on the land map. This will only make the game less fun for everyone and decrease interest in being active on the land map. Some countries have managed to stay together for numerous years and have been taken interest in the m...

Re: Crown War November 4th

With respect(and I honestly do mean that this time), Isn't "High King" an in-character position? If so, shouldn't this post be in the IC forums without all the references to real life contributions to the game etc? I'm not at all comfortable with the large amount of mixing of IC and OOC in...

Re: NQ is defunct

"So what you are saying is that someone should attack NQ.." Not a good idea. Launching a war against NQ would carry the same complication as going after "The Black Fortress" in Krull . Anyone who doesn't understand that reference needs to stop whatever they are doing and go watch...

Re: NQ is defunct

To the best of my knowledge, NQ! had little to no assets on the land map. Therefore, this defunct status is nothing more than giving them the ability to teleport their nation to somewhere else in Darkon. That said, I've lost count of the number of times I've had to scramble to make sure we had our b...

Never laugh when a hearse goes by...

Seeing them listed four times in the "past countries" page is bound to provoke some head scratching among visiting non-Darkonians.

There is something to be said for perserverence.

Re: Warbands

I would definitely like to hear Snudge's input on this. He seems to have a strong working knowledge of the current land map. Also, I expect that in person discussion in a small group would be far more useful than potentially abrasive debates on the internets. That said, it should be at the event its...

"My thought was if a WB sacks a hex, it returns to being an unclaimed, unland-searched hex." I think that's a really good idea, and makes sense from both a fantasy and history perspective, where the protaganists would come upon settlements emptied by goblinoid/viking/indian etc raiding par...

Re: The Flight from Darkon

Empyrean is hardly the best example of active expansion from my memory of its time on the land map, but that is beside the point. The ability of a country to engage in land searches or contructions is rarely, if ever, a source of complaints and contention among the players. It is the decline in valu...

We are starting to diverge from topic, but... You can get the Warbands proposal passed. Talk to the senators from the various countries of Darkon. In person, not at Senate. Senate seems to be more for boisterous grandstanding and not necessarily an accurate reflection of who is going to vote on what...
