Re: Remove AoE

Anyhow...I think we all agree that situationally, AOE can be really stupid, griefy and unfun. I just don't want a blanket ban. Another thing I thought of...if we remove AOE entirely from spells, that means no monster/NPC at a campout will ever AOE again? Or else Adventure hosts will utilize them an...

there's really no reason going up on a sheet of paper has to mean north and cold. it just depends on what map projection is used.

open cell doesn't really do much. it collapses too quickly and doesn't absorb much force and breaks down super fast.

Re: Discussion - Remove offensive spells

disclaimer: i haven't read everything above this, i just don't have that kind of time. i started my stick dorking career in amtgard. it has 'more' magic that darkon, but it also has more counter balances to it. spells are quicker casting in amt, but there are no AoEs (mostly cause it's really hard t...

Re: To the realm, about some of these rules im seeing...

As they are not for safety, and not functional unless made larger than an inch or more (and we have no basis for regulating them as we allow basket and katana styles), tape representations of quillions should be allowed and the wording changed. I personally stand by that a bar and sword look the sa...

Re: Proposal - Events

i'm not really sure why this would need to be in the rulebook. why not have a supplemental battle book. it jsut seems like this idea is mostly going to add length to the rulebook. Cause then you have two books to maintain and arguments over how to maintain them... Just easier to put these in an app...

even if it's big and unwieldy, what's to stop someone from throwing the three balls and the dropping the sword to use a better balanced weapon? Re: Stance on Hay Bail Walls

Instead of hay bales, why not have all of Darkon contribute cardboard boxes? You can find probably boxes of the comparable size, they can be decorated, even finishes with some kind of protectant too, and even easy to break down and transport. plastic sheeting and ropes would probably do this but be...

How about leaving Maelstrom alone, but making it a giant 6.5 foot unwieldy beast of a sword like it used to be. Very few people used to want to use it, cause it SUCKED to use.
