Re: A salute to Roleplay

One time a group of very chaotic strange folks, we'll call them "The Empyrean" took over a tavern/castle run by some Arch Duke - we'll call him Thom, because I don't remember his character name, but he was an NPC - and told everybody that came to visit that we were, in fact, the Arch Duke....

Re: Clerics are overpowered-Discussion

I have a cleric and a fighter. I play my fighter more often because stabby swords are better than a flail, IMO. You can chew through armor faster with one, and lightly-armored people are more easily-defeated with one.

Re: Darkonians at Ragnarok XXVIII (2013)

I love the photo in the second set where it appears as though the guy was disarmed mid thrust or something, because he seems like he is stabbing with an invisible spear if you don't notice what appears to be his weapon falling to the ground.

Re: Open Discussion - Order of the Sword ability?

Make them immune to assassination abilities - still a non-combat ability, it reinforces the value of what people have done and earned, and makes the prize worth the effort. It wouldn't disrupt fighting on-field, it wouldn't slant the power towards vets. Complete immunity for some of the people who ...

I'd be all for this, except you'd have to exclude members of a police force.

Actually, on second thought...

But no, you'd have to exclude the military, too. Too bad.

Not active, but Bannor was a fighter still, even though he was a fighting noble. He once told me it was because he liked using javelins and didn't want to disdain their use.

Re: Identifying those under 21 at overnight events

Just like a bar or a club (or a hammer or a flail?). It's easy to remove x's... But you can't remove x's AND have the right wristband to prove that you are 21 and over. We should do the same if we're going to do it at all... Something to signify under 21 and something to signify over. This sounds r...

Re: Identifying those under 21 at overnight events

I have no problem with this. The reaction of the club should not be "remove younger players from the game to shield them from dumb * happening" it should be "Stop dumb * from happening". With increased dues there should be no reason the club cannot splurge for night club style w...

It was definitely a lot of fun! The bundle of sticks we won adorns the top of the television (it fits, trust me - we have very strange decorations to begin with).

All in all, a good day event. Thanks for putting on a great show.

I agree. A few months I ran up against someone who had it thinking "What can they do with one arrow to my steelskin?" and then I kept fighting them and they yelled at me that I was dead. They didn't say "ARROW OF PIERCING" or anything, either... So how would I know? I've observed...

Re: Morning Star?

In Darkon, a morning star is a chained weapon.

Yellow weapons can have stab tips, but they only do yellow damage for balance reasons (which should be fixed, really since it was only there to prevent clerics from doing red).

Thrush I've got to disagree again. Nurgle and AQ are not a super team, nor is it built in. At no campout in the last two years have we gotten more than 3 from them, or put more than 20 on the field. They fought against us on the most recent land war. I'd be more concerned with NQ and Slindar's reti...

Lanham and I talked about this last year. Since you can now cast "neutralize poison" to protect yourself from poison, it's not as much of a balance issue anymore (unless you don't cast it, and that's on you).
