Re: Amending "Costume" section

correct. If you're wearing non-period footwear, your socks need to match your garb/ shoes in an unobtrusive manner.

Amending "Costume" section

Cosigned by: Sir Wulfvin, Sir Inox Preface: Last spring we went through a lot of discussions about garb, and at senate determined that marshals and elders should be able to disallow play for players who continue to fail garb checks, or blatantly disregard them. This is placing it into the rulebook. ...

I care about socks when they draw attention to non-period footwear.

Return of Credit Transfer as a Darkon Rule

Proposed by: Baron Valfryn (chris murphy) Cosinners: Duke Inox (kevin zygmontas), Caedes (andrew protani) 2014 notes: This is a copy and past of my original prop that I sent up in 08, some wording was cleaned up, but should be relevant, regardless. Thanks for that. I just fwd that to the FB masses, and even gave them loads of links from the Dag garb boards.

Garb and You, 2014 (Read this)

The magistrate contacted me regarding our garb standards. Violations will be sought and addressed. As a player, please seek to correct any possible garb violations before this coming event (June 15th). This initiative is designed to improve our game via its image and promote creativity and craftsman...

Re: (POLL) How does distance effect your campout attendance?

I typically won't spend more than one night at a camp out. I loathe driving more than an hour + setup.

Re: Hi guys, I'm new and curious. Any guidance?

My advice to anyone is to just show up. If you have garb, wear it. If you dont: get together a black or natural colored sweatsuit or something and players can lend you a tunic/ tabard. Don't wear white socks and white shoes. Try to wear black/brown shoes with matching laces and dark socks. Usually t...

Re: I hate the FB page

While I don't want to have to worry about two darkon threads, that might be the answer. I also agree that the lack of keywording and search is a kick in the groin. All "official" stuff should be placed here, or even have a link to here on the FB page, though.

Re: Defining a Member Group

Well, being a "land mapster" I could say that I'd miss it, but I wouldn't miss the muss and fuss. I am working on an "abstract conquest system" that still uses battles, seiges, land searches etc... but doesn't actually use the hexes. Monies and conquest points will rate nations w...

Re: Appraisal of siege/boat/ bridge mechanics etc

Or another option is if we use "net walls" as an actual structure it becomes WYSIWYG and that's that. Arrows missiles, whatever. Though I think it's easy enough to use the "lob in" rule for the "moat" scenario, with the walls being implied. as to the "speed" o...

Re: Appraisal of siege/boat/ bridge mechanics etc

the moat is a representation of walls as well. they're implied. you can't shoot arrows straight into the keep still, and you can still "climb the wall" but it metas "swimming the moat" as well. everything else still works as normal, except the gate also has a "narrow bridge&...

Appraisal of siege/boat/ bridge mechanics etc

Recently there's been some discussions regarding the mechanics of sieges, boat fights and general eldering and enforcement when it comes to large amounts of players and meta-game structures. In an attempt to get everyone on the same page, and have a single "fun" mechanic, I've started a li...

Re: Defining a Member Group

I really don't like a group of people voting on rules that don't apply to their "nation" at all. That's my main qualm. And to tyriel, if you're not "on the land map" you shouldn't be able to put down army markers or anything like that, but you should be able to take part on other...

Re: Hail, Warriors!

Faster responses come from the Darkon Facebook group. Westminster isn't too far out, most of the players are baltimore-ish. some stuff: source material (rules) are found at m . You will want to at least read the "new to darkon" and "combat" sections. It will make things much easi...

Re: The Free Peoples of WAAAGH

Insinuating that your sword seeks drow blood. A compliment, for my sword would seek the blood of drow if I were a lesser man... Regardless, your prattling is nothing but foolishness. You are propagating a poor representation of what is actually happening, and in turn suggesting that your unit be jus...

Re: The Free Peoples of WAAAGH

None of the nations that Chosen Blood assaulted were broken before we began hostilities, in fact, they were typically more in number if not equal. I am honestly proud to hear that people can view seven to ten drow as such a threat. Would it please the onlookers, astride in their lounging chairs if w...

Does a tabard need to have a device on it to count for "country"? I use blank tabards for my recruits, does that mean they cannot count for country, regardless of my tabards having a unique and easily identifiable design?
