Question about crown war and prisoners

I was wondering, if the crown war is following adventure rules, is it possible to take characters captive and even hold them hostage during the course of that day?

Here we go again, Burtonsville + Rain

Forcast for sunday is 52 and rainy (pretty typical for Darkon weather) and we are at Burtonsville again. m Are we using an alternate site or the woods? I appreciate that EB has a life outside of the game, but I would like to know if it is possible to get an official statement soon so that I am not m...

Old Ironbutt award

A person who has a character over level 40 may receive the "Ol Ironbutt" award. This award may be issued as a result of a martial competition only and may be stolen by someone during an honorable duel at any event. However a challenge may only be issued once per event. The award functions ...

Re: Rain and burtonsville.

Your not wrong, we cannot use the field at Burtonsville when it is raining. I think we used to default to CCBC when it was not possible to use Burtonsville. Do we have an alt site for today? It is 0630 and has been raining on and off since about 0200. Perhaps Centennial Park or Redland? I don't hone...

Re: Rules Clarification Clarification

I think the only new rule/law/whatever that we need added to the rule book should be the "a-hole" rule. If what you are about to do can easily be construed as metagaming, intentionally mis-interpreting of the rules, or generally being an a-hole, you may not do it. (insert a few applicable ...

6FT Halberd Commission

I am looking to get a sturdy 6ft halberd. Unfourtunately I do not have the time to make one for myself, but I would be happy to pay for one. Feel free to PM me or let me know who I can go to for this.

Re: something to think about

Even if it is not present in camp, my big bag o' crap is always at the event with me. So far since I posted about it I have had two well garbed people grab some boot toppers. To reiterate, I bring enough with me to adequately garb at least 2 full costumes, plus extra. This includes boot tops, pants,...

Re: weapon checking

I would highly recommend that you purchase a pair of lax gloves, or something padded to cover your hands, it doesn't need to be much. I have a pair of gloves that I used for a while, looked great with a little leather glued to them. The pair I use now just have thick leather rivetted to the back of ...

Announcing Caeldoarns garb "rental" service

If you know someone new who is need of garb or someone old who forgot their kit please direct them to my garb "rental" service. I am trying to provide this as a free service to Darkon in the spirit of spicing up our games look, while most garb is going to be simple t-tunics and shoe covers...

Thank you everyone for your responses! It was a very enlightening response. I may actually look into purchasing a couple of Blauer(sp?) suits (similar to redman except made for Jui Jitsu with joint locks in mind).

Think Tank discussion, Could kicking be made safe?

!! This is not a preempt for an eventual proposal. This is based on a discussion I had with a few friends about stick fighting in general.!! We were discussing the use of empty hand fighting and were brainstorming ideas for making kicking safe. It has been done in some other areas, mostly competitio...

Re: Financial Troubles of Todays Yutes.

I usually bring a bag of stuff that can garb a bunch of newbies, this includes but is not limited to: Pants (1 pair, first come first serve and they do get washed between events) Tunics (Hand sewn from various fabrics, I like the stuff I purchased better, but then too get washed) Boot covers (I have...

Re: A Challange - Legal Hits

In a game with so much armor there ought to be a ruling on how light hits are taken. If you can see the hit land there is no reason not to take it. Hit hard take light is the mantra I have been told to abide by. However if you can't see the hit and your armor which is by design dispersing the force ...

Re: The Counter Attack Action

For the blockade section: Maybe the blockading action could actually steal money from the country that owns the hex, it could cost that country 100silver per turn instead of costing money. If warbands get implemented it could provide a method of generating income for them. Also it stands to reason t...

Re: Introdution of Latex Weapons to Darkon

m Calimacil swords look like they are pretty tough. The price is still a bit high, about twice what I have paid for a sword from Ed-Hellen. According to their site: "These are not your standard, ultra-light latex-foam weapons, these are realistic reproductions created by injection mold processi...

Minimum Coverage Standards

Because it was an issue for my wife last year I would like to get a concensus as to the minimum garb standards (as in how little one may wear) If a person is wearing what is effectively a swim suit (albeit a medieval looking swim suit that meets all costume requirements), considering that it is both...

Re: Are these arrows legal?

By penny of other similar object I always inferred a METAL object to prevent the shaft from coring under any circumstances. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe that is what Calien was pointing out.

Since a composit plug is very dissimilar from a penny I don't think it should be used.
