i know someone who wants to get into foam fighting. The only problem is he wants a tear drop punch shield and i have never made nor have any experience in making one. The shield he uses in the sca is the same but the hand kind of goes into the shield a little. does anyone know of any good ways to make the handle?

I can possibly get a picture of the shield he is modeling it after from his sca gear if that would help.

If your using poly plank, you can rout a 8in wide hole in it where he wants his hand to go. If its a 2in plank rout down about an 1 1/4. Take a wooden dowel and screw it over the hole.

thank you, ill tell him about this to see if he is willing to try it.

if he decides he would like extra room where his fingers fit through is there a different way to do it? i know the sca punch shields have plenty of room between the handle and shield part(enough for a hockey glove to go through with some spare room.)
