November 17th Battle

Post by Gor Bloodclaw » 2013-11-04

So I have an event planned out and I think the November 17th Battle will be a good time to try it out. Hopefully prizes will be given out but that is up in the air until I can get it confirmed.

Bridge Battle + Siege

The day of fighting will begin with a bridge battle. Then move to the siege battle. I need 3 NPCs. 1 in plate or chain and 2 others in whatever. I need someone to donate a siege weapon for the siege battle.

The realm's countries receive missive, a call for aid at from the Order of Thor's Mercy. A respected and compassionate order, who heal the sick and protect the weak. They are under siege from the Longtusk warband, a ragtag legion of orcs and brigands hellbent on looting the treasures found inside. Due to illness, starvation and poor leadership, the order has started to lose ground and faces annihilation.

Bridge Battle
This battle represents the fight in the battlements leading up to the cathedral walls. The object of the battle is claim several resources that will become available in the siege. Capture and Hold style. This will be a timed res battle. Sides will be split into countries but you can make whatever pact you want, it is up to you to determine who is on what side and if some countries are out for themselves.

The list below is subject to change:
1. Relics
2. Siege Weapon
3. Supplies (Battering Ram or free Mends)

Siege Battle
The order has decided its last stand will be in the church. The Longtusk warband is ready to crush the order and claim their prize. Those who are supporting the order will start in a 3 gated keep. The main gate will be gated but the two side gates will be thinner but will not have a gate. Whatever country had control over the siege weapon flag at the end of the bridge battle will have control over the siege weapon, that goes the same for the relics and the supplies.

Scoring:
At the end of each battle, I need a representative of each country to come to me. They will award one point to another country, other than themselves who had done well in the battle, either by roleplaying or fighting strategically or whatever. The country with the most points at the of day wins.

Will you aid these selfless clerics or will you crush them?

Questions? Comments? This is my first try.

Going to be a fairly long Senate meeting. Something to think about.

Sounds fun let me know if you need any help organizing. Be prepared for people to complain. Capture the flag lasted all of 15 minutes yesterday and I heard someone bitch "can we do 2 teams now" for at least 5 of them.

I wonder why less and less people want to run things for Darkon and then I realized it is because of the Attitude of the players.

With everything that should be on the docket (assuming everyone shows up to present), starting later wouldn't help. Senate might start between 1:30-1:45, accounting for land actions. Give 15-20 for everyone to actually get to Senate. Then probably at least an hour for discussion/voting. More if Pat doesn't cut the back and forth to a minimum.

If you try to wait for Senate to end, you're looking at a probable start time of 3pm. By then a third of darkon with *out and leave, with another chunk just socializing for the last half four before they go eat.

If you want people to actually participate, I'd suggest either saying screw Senate and do your thing or reschedule.

Well now since I proposing something at Senate, I will have to reschedule. But if I reschedule to December 7th, that will interrupt the planned Ice Breaker. So ideas?

Honestly I would rather do this then an ice breaker. I've done ice breakers, I have not done this. I would do it on the day of the ice breaker and say * it, your idea is probably more fun anyway. No one is gonna stop you from doing something cool.

Give your honest opinion about this game type:

It is time for the annual tribute of coin to be delivered to King's Crossing. Rumor has it that brigands are attempting to rob the couriers. Which side do you choose, that of those honorable persons delivering what is owed, or those who want that coin for nefarious purpose....

The chest must be carried by at least two persons (four hands) since the chest is heavy. Those carrying the chests cannot have weapons drawn. Persons carrying the chest cannot run with the chest for reasons already mentioned....see above. If a person is injured or dies while moving the chest the other person(s) cannot move the chest until the fallen persons place is taken.

It looks like we will have a caravan event during Nov 17th in addition to two team fighting.

Caravan Battle- depending on the number of people who show up, one courier NPC will be volunteered from each country. The remainder of Darkon will be split into defending the couriers, or attacking the couriers as they travel to the Fort of Hope at King's Crossing with their coin. Each NPC will have Plate Hits, and use whatever weapon combo they feel comfortable with.

Scenario: Two teams, one of defenders and the other the "brigands". You must escort the couriers from point A to point B safely. I would like the assistance of at least 3 other people to help elder, be res points, etc. During your trek through the forest, the Bridge of Ravenscar Cliffs must be cleared, expect heavy casualties :). Once you arrive at the keep, you must be prepared for a siege, for the brigands will not easily give up such a plump target.

If time permits, we will run the scenario twice. to give persons the opportunity to fulfill both roles.

At the end, I would like each country to send me a representative to award a point for another country, for awesome RP, good combat or strategy. I don't know if I have authority to give out an award, but I will think of something cool RP wise if nothing else.

Any comments or help is appreciated.

If anyone has some rope that I can borrow for the next event to make a bridge and keep with. I would be grateful!
