Pre-adventure info for next event...

Remember, this is what you get when one of you doesn't step up to run it:

Age of Aquarius

The pre-adventure will be held next event, and in preparation for the campout there are a few things you will have to keep in mind. This campout will be different from every campout before, not just because of the location, but also because of some innovative new things we will be trying.

1. You will need period containers for all of your beverages, this not only adds to the atmosphere, but also is required to be in compliance with the rules.

2. You will need to remain IG/IC while in the area of play. This includes the entire site, minus Hades, inside a tent, or the flushies. Get caught breaking character and your team will lose points.

3. There will be absolutely no tolerance for breaking the rules. Both IG and OOG rules.

4. All players will begin as members of "The Tribe".

5. There will be no fighting unless conscripted, sorry all this is a pacifist campout.

6. Please be respectful. It takes a lot of guts for Thrush, Pain, Natch, and I to do the nude scene.

More info at the Pre-adventure.

Physical Challenge! I have the Bomb and win all ties.

Finally. I have waited 16 years for this moment...

Damn... I've only been on my diet for 5 weeks... Only 10 lbs down. Only 3 weeks to go... Time to switch to cocaine and cigarettes.

This is campout is designed to be an accurate portrayal of historic fantasy. It contains violence, foul language, suggestive dialogue and nudity. Viewer discretion is advised.

For increased historical accuracy, we should require all players to have proper in-character vocabulary. That means no english words invented after the year 1699 or beyond your character's time period (check oed.org) Also, any non-english/common speaking characters should primarily be speaking their native tongue. Proper grammar and verb conjugation should be observed and ruthlessly enforced.

Could you expound on this a little bit for me? Am I correct in believing that this means I will not be playing as Guy, warrior of Ched Nasad, but that I'll be a completely different person altogether for the campout?

I think 4,5 and 6 are a progessive line of jokes. 1,2 and 3 do look important though.

Yes, sorry Guy. 4,5,6 as well as the Title and last line are all references to the 1967 musical Hair. Real information will be released this weekend and then on the forums.

Hello,
I apologize if I'm asking dumb or repetitive questions on here. My husband and I are interested in trying out Darkon, but we don't really have prior LARPing experience (we're pen-and-paper people), so we were hoping to attend the March 11th event in Burtonsville to watch and get a feel for the game and see if it's something we could get into. However, I couldn't find a time for the event on the events page. Can someone please provide that?
Also, I just wanted to be clear: was the nudity thing just a joke? Because we may end up having to bring our daughter along, and I'd like to be aware of that sort of thing ahead of time.
Other than that, I'd be grateful for any tips on what to expect when we show up. Should we bring anything (e.g. water, booze, baked items, gold for tribute)? ;)
Thanks a bunch!

Check in starts at 12, battle at 1. No booze at day events, bring water/gatoraid or whatever if you plan to fight. And yes the nudity was a joke, cuz if its not I'll have to burn my eyes out. Some things you can't unsee.

There are plenty of helpful folks at all events. Hope to see you out there.

I am devastated that there won't be a #6. I thought everyone had been working really hard on the musical number! I guess I'll have to change my costume plan now /sigh.....

There could be a #6 if Jason shows up and I get Gerrard drunk enough....

If anyone came across a lost pendant at burtonsville, please contact Nusiance of Nurgle; It is sentimental to me,
It is a silver skull surrounded by a chaos cross w/ a blue gem in the forehead. if anyone found it I will reward in coin

What were your impressions on March 11th?

I noticed you were bringing your daughter, was that this last Sunday or campout? I believe there is a minimum age for camping.
