March Campout Info...

Recent events have roused the otherwise detached gods of the various Darkon countries. Something big and potentially interesting is taking place, and each deity/pantheon is looking to solidify their place in the Realm. This being the case conflict is inevitable.

Countries
Each Country will be responsible for Marking their Leader, High Priest, and Champion with an appropriate and unique visual identification of their status as favored by their god. Players MUST be able to determine who is one of the point bearing individuals for the other countries.

Leaders: The Leader of a country keeps track of his or her countries point total. For each Leader, High Priest, or Champion (of another country) killed the country accrues 1 point. Each time the leader dies the country loses 1 point. No points may be accrued while the leader is dead. Leaders are invested with the will of their god(s) and cannot be assassinated by normal means.
High Priests: The High Priest keeps track of the countries boons. No boons will be active while the high priest is dead (or if the player is out of visual range of their High Priest). Upon returning to life or gaining a boon the High Priest will perform an appropriate IC ceremony to bestow the boon on each member of the country individually. If a High Priest is captured alive they can be commanded to perform the ceremony granting their countries boon on a single member of the capturing force. This boon shall be active as long as the capturing force's High Priest lives. The High Priest is invested with their god(s) will and cannot be assassinated by normal means.
Champions: Champions are able to “Call eachother out”. Doing such forces the challenged Champion to fight the challenging Champion in single combat. The winner of the challenge accrues an additional point for their team. Note: The challenge does not effect any characters but the two champion, who are free to attack anyone attacking them while they attempt to get to the challenge. Additionally Champions always have the Boon of their country active – High Priest live or not. The Champion is invested with their god(s) will and cannot be assassinated by normal means.

Non-country entities
Any non-country entity may choose to join the ranks of the NPC's for the day, they may choose to fight with whichever county they choose provided that they they worship the same god, or they may choose to field as an independant unit. Each independant unit (of whatever size) will designate one individual to act as the Leader for score recording puposes. The unit may earn no boons and cannot be awarded points by any means other than by killing the Leader, High Priest, or Champion of a country. No points are awarded for killing the “Leader” of a non-country entity nor are points deducted.

Points and Prizes
In addition to the above stated points there will also be points awarded for the quality of a countries appearance, ceremony, ability to stay in game, compliance with the spirit and letter of the rules, and other in game and out of game actions. Players should know that there are prizes that will be awarded both on the player and country level. Non-House Dubh NPC's are not exempt from winning certain prizes either. Countries scores will be scaled based on the number of players in the country as well as the number of members of any other group that they have allied with at any point over the campout.

Examples of Prizes categories include:

The country or group with the greatest net score (not gross)
The country with the best ritual for distributing their boons.
The individual who crafts the best indicator for each of the 3 positions (1 award per item).
The individual or group that most impresses NPC group 1.
The individual or group that most impresses NPC group 2.
The individual or group that most impresses NPC group 3.
The individual or group that most impresses NPC group 4.

Hades
When dead players MUST report to Hades. There they will be assigned a mask and a starting location. Once killed they must return the mask prior to rejoining their country.

Boons
Each Country has a special boon granted directly from their god/pantheon. If you do not know what your boon is, or are unaware of the material component required to make it function please contact me for further instruction.

Clarification number 1: Non-country entities may earn one of the three boons given out today. They may not earn country level boons. Go Thrush.

So, players not affiliated with a country can gain points, but not lose points? Or am I missing something?

You missed nothing. However, since they do not have all the required players, it will be much, much, much harder for them to gain points. They won't easily be able to kill any of the 3 important people that need to be killed. They also won't have a boon based on their country.

And even a champion calling out a champion wouldn't end well, as people could still attack that person on the way to fight the other guy.

Basically, not losing points is the only way they can even come close to competing.

If a leader were to die but is resurrected is a point still lost? Or does the leader have to go to hades for him/her to lose a point?

Good question, points are only lost if (s)he is not resurrected.

I would assume that it guarantees a trip to hades. So just one.

Clarification number 2: If you capture another countries High Priest they MUST perform their ceremony that grants a boon for a member of your country. Additionally you have the right to choose which member will receive the boon.

Clarification Number 3: If your Champion has received boons other than your countries initial boon, they all go away upon the death (or loss of line of sight) of the High Priest, as with any other member of the country. Only the Countries initial boon remains active.

How does the captured high priest boon work? Until death? Until out of line of sight?

Boons are based on your High Priest, not theirs. As soon as he or she performs their required ceremony and gives the boon out I would suggest you kill them and gain your point. From that point, as long as your High Priest is alive and within sight you keep that boon.

Is there a way for countries to change who was picked for the 3 roles of the country. Or were only the people attending that event eligible for the positions?

Re: March Campout Info...

Each country MUST fill all three positions. The people who self-selected when approached by the avatar of their god/pantheon were all told that they had to be in attendance at the campout. If for some reason one of those people is unable to attend, or a country did not have three people who were there for the pre-adventure, then those positions may be filled by new people.

Who can we contact to put in new names for the positions, the 3 people at the event WILL be at the campout, we would just like to change who the people are who fill those rolls with more suitable people from our country who could not make the pre adventure but who will be at the campout.

Thank you for the quick response

Sounds like you are out of luck Ferk. The people who were in positions are locked in to that position UNLESS they do not come to the campout. I think some countries would like to shuffle the 3 positions as well, but that's the call from the Head Elder in this matter. This gives you a chance to think of different strategies to help your country out. That being said. BAMC " Instant country, just add gold."

Good question, points are only lost if (s)he is not resurrected.

Are points only gained if the leader has to go to Hades?

Yes.
