Should there be any issue with quroum, it will be rescheduled. If not, I dont see why this should be any different. Many Darkonians do not celebrate Easter, including myself. I don't consider other religions holidays when making the senate schedule, so why should I consider Christian et al?

pretty much. OR go with Malkin's idea of making 1 handed weapons white, chained weapons yellow, and allow clerics to use non stabbing swords as weapon restrictions based off of D&D, like everything else based off of D&D according to you, is outdated and dumb.

Clerical power is pretty significant already. Giving them limb kills seems like it could be unbalancing.

Now, we could drop them to Chain/36" shields, and make their weapons:

1.) No missiles
2.) No Black
3.) 4' or less

...and we might have something. Oh, and drop Word of Holding & Curse.

Is that really why they exist? Does anyone really know why they were introduced? Is this conjecture or is that really the only reason?

I would not vote against this as long as clerics are given a weapon that is clearly non-wood based so as to not make all of our weapons destroyable by warp wood (more likely amend the weapon descriptions to specify which are wooden and which are metal) OR if we tack on something to specify exactly what is destroyed by WW and leave one or two cleric weapons off that list, then I'm fine with it. No class should be made to be completely defenseless against a spell that is meant to hinder spearmen and shield walls. Even swords and daggers have wooden parts (handle) but we assume without it being written anywhere that they are unaffected.

I don't think we should remove quillions from swords, but that's another discussion altogether (but where removal of bars will lead us).

The handle of those weapons are definitely going to be wooden, making them unusable when that part is gone. Likewise, maces, hammers, and clubs (duh on clubs) all could and often would have wooden handles to save metal and weight.

My point is it's ambiguous. We could say all maces are metal, but we need to actually put that in writing. I would like to see warp wood effect a specific set of weapons + shields and whatever else it breaks now to keep us out of grey area arguments.

Id have no issue with that really. Id even allow grandfathered plate to count as chain since we shouldnt be metagaming other people's hits anyway and plate looks pretty cool. Wear a red armband, count your own hits, done.

Personally i dont feel WoH and Curse need to be removed. WoH has already been nerfed to make it situationally useful and Curse is only adventure. maybe change curse to destroys all armor instead of incapacitating someone. Still powerful, but gives you a fighting chance.

Altering the armor type allowed for a class is bad. Grandfathering is bad in general, and counting armor as something different as it appears to be is also bad. If there is a desire to balance clerics I would rather see it done in the area of spells. Clerics in plate are a loooong time tradition in this game, my original cleric plate, now worn by Eizenhorn, is older than 2 Knights of the Realm. My current plate is old enough to start earning credits next year when it turns 16. Taking plate away because of bars is insane. It's not just the hits, it is the persona built by many of us...Clerics like myself, Faleris, Andrick..are battle priests and templars. Even Keira has a shiny suit of plate for wars. This would be a giant fundamental change. Not for it in any way.

If clerics are OP, go after the spells or the way spells are used. And I don't see the point in giving us use of edges weapons. That would be way OP, and I do not see any clerics asking for that priviledge anyway.

Why? The game promotes NON metagaming. I dont count someones plate hits when I swing at them, I swing till they fall down and they count their own hits. If they were wearing plate but taking AR 2, they would just count AR2 hits in their head.

I think Andrick wears Chain and uses a small shield.

Ive heard of a couple people asking for it actually. I dont want to put words in his mouth, but I would think Lord Halcon would be the first to support a sword for his cleric as he disdains flail use, and uses a bar as his preferred fighting style.

He is not Unknown. He has been coming out to Darkon for a number of years; 10+ if I am correct. He is one of our Senators and has a fairly high level cleric. You guys know him. Trust Me.
