Black 'thrust'?

Post by Sir Aethilgar » 2012-10-22

I'm considering the construction of a pole-weapon and have been reviewing several based on geography and period. They have a wide variety of striking surfaces, some blades, some hooks, some points... but I am intrigued how Darkon would consider those pole-weapons that have blades on their ends rather than points. The 'thrust' wouldn't be a piercing action (a point) but would be a chopping action (a blade). Provided that weapon dimensional rules are taken into account; would this be; in effect, a 'black thrust'?

Are you talking about something like a "Monk Spade"?

I guess I'm a little unclear on your question, Sir Aethilgar. As Cort pointed out, if you're hacking/cleaving, it's black damage. If you put a stab tip on a black or white weapon, it's red damage. Draw cuts are verboten.

Could you perhaps put in a pic of the weapon(s) in question?

I think he mean something like this

I would feel that this design might be (in foam form) unsafe
but would still be thrusting.... So, red dmg.
