Posted: 2012-01-18
by Lord Dubh
My Lord and dread sovereign of the realm, His Majesty High King Slindar will be available to his subjects at this Court to receive petitions, dispense justice and acknowledge their gifts of tribute. His Majesty will also confer honors upon the most deserving of his people at this Court.

All those that have declared themselves opposed to His Majesty may send one unarmed Ambassador with an unarmed escort. As a courtesy, Knights of the Realm will not be disarmed. Wild animals will not be permitted in the presence of His Majesty and if they attempt to enter the grounds of the court they will be killed on sight.

In his name and service,

Lord Chamberlain Bendore Dubh, Marquis of Paledor and Dai-Dagan.

Are Retainers of a Knight of the Realm permitted to bring weapons as well?

I am only asking as the Squire to Baron Alfred Goldenhue of Elidor.

Etiquette and common practice would dictate that the Squire of The Marshal of the Royal Army would retain his arms. More so I imagine that he would be tasked with holding the Marshal's arms while he is indisposed.

This will all depend on the amount of "boys" you bring, and the amount of *ahem* "choppas" you bring with you.

If the number of "boys", including yourself, is no more than a pair and your "choppa" count is less than one... you should be allowed to attend court unharmed. I cannot promise anything beyond that your presence will not merit death.

Lord Valfryn, I must respectfully disagree. Lord Dubh did say wild animals were to be killed, and orcs are certainly nothing more then wild animals. The capacity for rudimentary speech does not change what they are.

I can see your logic, Your Grace. I cannot help but be amused, am I more "tolerant" than a human? But then again, I tend to draw the line between being and beast by how many lashes it takes for them to achieve simple tasks... so perhaps our grading scales are not aligned.

Correct. Though His Majesty has made it clear that some orcs are less wild than others, such as the ones in Ched Nasad. The Royal Huntsman Vermin is really the one to make the determination on that though, and I leave it to his judgement when the time comes. If he is not present, the it will be up to Sir Thrush as the Captain of the Kings Guard.

Lord Chamberlin,

Is his Majesty still seeking my audience? He was unavailable the two times I arrived as summoned.

You may indeed be more tolerant then I. Of course, you also may simply not understand most humans. Most kill anything they do not understand, they find unpleasant to look upon, or who worship gods other then their own. Not necessarily in that order of importance.
I on the other hand kill without care for such things. The best opponents are those that make a fight of it. That is why I often find myself facing other Norseman, it is difficult to find more skilled opponents on the whole.
Alas, I fear these orcs will not come close to that standard. Although, I have on extremely rare occasion had slight difficulty putting down wild boar. Hopefully, they will provide at least that much of a challenge.

Lord Dubh,
As much as I agree that the Orcs of Waagh! are but simple animals and should be treated and killed on sight as such, I would not let any of the Orcs of Ched Nasad hear you say they are any less wild than the Orcs of Waagh!, just sounds like a challenge to them. And If I know my fellow Warhound, Gore Bludclaw, he would take it as a challenge... and may seek to destroy the entire tribe of Waagh to show you how wild he can be.
That would be an interesting challenge though, I may have to suggest this to him.
Hmmm.

As far as any food stufts go, cookies for instance, I would be more than happy and able to neutralize anything in the hopes of avoiding any issues.

Duke Andrick,

I believe you have once again tread in a place that you maybe lost the 5 minutes of memory before our last encounter, that would teach you to show orcs a little more courtesy. I tire of you being such a bore yourself. So, I am forced to remind you of what consequences your words have.

By the way, I am an orc that can pontificate with the best of Full Humans and Long Ears, even the dark ones.

Bile,
Watch your words. You address Duke Andrick improperly. There will be no show-boating on these boards. You know the rules like the rest of the Hordelings, don't speak unless directly spoken to. You are not needed in this conversation.

Chosen Wulfen, Your Superior.

Wulfen, while I appreciate your position and putting your subordinate in his place, it is not necessary. If Bile wishes to meet NorthStar I will happily introduce him. Although, I must admit I am somewhat surprised by his capacity for civilized speech. It is quite interesting that an orc can speak so well. Regardless, nothing he says offends me, nor do I hold anything he speaks against Ched Nasad. He is, after all, merely an orc.

Bile simply shut up. You are not in this conversation you do not know anything about what is happening with this so stay off this thread.

Thank you Andrick but this one has not been out in some time and seems to love to get on here and speak out of place. It is not so much you that I worry to take offense but he will keep going if not sternly handled. He is a orc after all.

The Royal Huntsman of Ched Nasad determines what animals are sentient enough to attend Court. If you are not a resident of the territory inhabited by Waagh! Then please attend to His Majesty.

Squire Wulfen, we may need you to have a look at those cookies.

I speak how I please, to whom I please. And Wulfen you may "outrank" me but are not my "superior". Valaros, I see people talking about Orcs in an uneducated manner. I was reminding Andrick of previous encounters he and I have had with one another. Some people seem to forget that not all orcs are push overs.

I never said orcs were push overs. In fact, when it comes to combat they can be rather effective. What I said was they are animals, which as near as I have been able to determine is true. Surely, in your case, either there is something other then orc blood in your veins or you are a genetic anomaly. No full blood orc has the capacity for speech you do.
