10 ranks is easy to get for just anyone to trade in and get a cavalier. I think the reason its 10th rank now is because a noble has to petition, be accepted, get to 10th rank, then win in the noble tourney. Thats a lot of stuff for one character. I agree that it should either be a fighter prestige class, or you need to do something to earn it. I dig the rp thing fingers mentioned though.

One thing I would like to see is the possibility of being stripped of your Cavalier status if you do not adhere to the code. Perhaps a council of cavaliers/nobles decide your fate.

This seems a little weird, though. That just means if I piss a small group of people off, they can change my character class and make me lose abilities. We already have that, it's called assassin. :P

Seriously, though, it should have to be unanimous by all cavaliers, if anything. Otherwise, some countries or units might simply take out their anger at someone from another country by making them lose their abilities.

I would like to think that Cavaliers (especially Nobles of the Realm) are beyond such pettiness.

The simple solution to this, if put in, would be a check and balance like everything else in the game. Getting a unanimous vote of every cavalier in the game would be next to impossible. So, have the recommend suspension go to the EB or Senate for approval. The accused gets a last chance to present their case, the judges send 1 representative to present theirs, done.

Having senate/eb rule on IC material seems dodgey at best.

Council of peers is the way to go. "Fallen Cav" until reinstated.

If all we are talking here is the Code, It's not IC it is in fact the RULES. Very much the purview of the EB.

That Sir Androke guy sounds like a real jerk. ;)

I'm all for putting in rules that require more RP out of the game, but that sounds abusable, Fingers. I'm not saying that it would be, but if the council is done entirely in-character, you might see some rulings that are suspect.

Edit: Oh dear Lord the work J-E-R-K is on the word filter? We can do better than that.
