Age of Aquarius

The pre-adventure will be held next event, and in preparation for the campout there are a few things you will have to keep in mind. This campout will be different from every campout before, not just because of the location, but also because of some innovative new things we will be trying.

1. You will need period containers for all of your beverages, this not only adds to the atmosphere, but also is required to be in compliance with the rules.

2. You will need to remain IG/IC while in the area of play. This includes the entire site, minus Hades, inside a tent, or the flushies. Get caught breaking character and your team will lose points.

3. There will be absolutely no tolerance for breaking the rules. Both IG and OOG rules.

4. All players will begin as members of "The Tribe".

5. There will be no fighting unless conscripted, sorry all this is a pacifist campout.

6. Please be respectful. It takes a lot of guts for Thrush, Pain, Natch, and I to do the nude scene.

That means no english words invented after the year 1699 or beyond your character's time period (check oed.org) Also, any non-english/common speaking characters should primarily be speaking their native tongue. Proper grammar and verb conjugation should be observed and ruthlessly enforced.

I apologize if I'm asking dumb or repetitive questions on here. My husband and I are interested in trying out Darkon, but we don't really have prior LARPing experience (we're pen-and-paper people), so we were hoping to attend the March 11th event in Burtonsville to watch and get a feel for the game and see if it's something we could get into. However, I couldn't find a time for the event on the events page. Can someone please provide that?
Also, I just wanted to be clear: was the nudity thing just a joke? Because we may end up having to bring our daughter along, and I'd like to be aware of that sort of thing ahead of time.
Other than that, I'd be grateful for any tips on what to expect when we show up. Should we bring anything (e.g. water, booze, baked items, gold for tribute)?

Check in starts at 12, battle at 1. No booze at day events, bring water/gatoraid or whatever if you plan to fight. And yes the nudity was a joke, cuz if its not I'll have to burn my eyes out. Some things you can't unsee.

What were your impressions on March 11th?

I noticed you were bringing your daughter, was that this last Sunday or campout? I believe there is a minimum age for camping.
