I would like feedback on next year's schedule. I think we might want to consider changing weeks. As is we hit almost every holiday and holiday weekend. By switching weeks we only hit Cinco de Mayo and Father's Day. Thoughts?

3 weeks apart over xmas and new years would make tons of sense... Not hitting major holidays makes the most sense, period.

Yaron, this eb set the schedule for the next year. Do it with jan 6th being the start of the year. All done.

ORCS would need to switch weeks also to stay off weekends. Otherwise we won't get to hang to often.

The switch is a good idea. Don't skip 3 weeks. Have back to back battles. Schedule the extra battle at Oregon Ridge, which is FREE in winter months. Make some money for the club's supposedly waning bank account. You can also bill it as a special fundraising "extra battle" or give it a special theme. You know it would be a good fighting day cause all the hardcore people will show up to fight.

It's a win/win. Add an extra battle, make the club some cash. Anyone who doesn't like it can stay home.

I support not having to go to darkon on nationally recognized holidays

The current Board will only be setting the first month of events. Due to the methods required to reserve the premium sites it is in the best interest of Darkon for incoming EB to make the schedule once the premium sites Oregon Ridge and Patuxent River Park (campouts) are scheduled. Pax River CAN NOT be scheduled until the first workday of 2013.

Looking at the 2013 calander the ONLY holiday we hit on our current schedule is Father's Day, June 16.

If we change it a week we hit:

Easter Sunday 3/31/13
Mother's Day 5/12/13
Memorial Day Weekend 5/26/13
Labor Day Weekend 9/1/13
Columbus Day weekend 10/13/13.

You seem to have misplaced a week somewhere.

Before the EB makes the new schedule starting 1/6/2012 - they need to confirm what this would look like on the calendar.

Holiday weekends for 2013 are 1/21(MLK), 2/18(Presidents), 3/17(St. Patty), 3/31(Easter), 5/5(Cinco de Mayo), 5/12(Mothers), 5/27(Memorial), 6/16(Fathers), 9/2(Labor).

Before the * - yes I know not everyone gets these off - but these are three day weekends for a lot of people and/or the holidays that people complain about the most.

Starting the calendar on 1/13 (two sundays after 12/30 - so NO CHANGE) means Darkon will hit: 5/5 and 6/16.
Start on 1/6 and we will hit all the others (Darkon will be on 1/6, 1/20, 2/3, 2/17, 3/3, 3/17, 3/31, 4/14, 4/28, 5/12, 5/26, 6/9, 6/23 . . . )

Here's another 'holiday' that hasn't been mentioned yet - but gets a LOT of *ing every year. (or at least - every year for the past 6 I've heard at least one darkonian complaining that the schedule stinks - mainly becuase of this one 'holiday')
