📜 Chronicle & Philosophy
No Quarter! is a cross-gaming combat unit active across multiple rulesets including Amtgard,
Armored Combat, Belegarth, Dagorhir, and Darkon. Originally founded in the Maryland/Virginia
area as a Darkon country, the group has since expanded to field members all across the United
States.
The core philosophy of No Quarter! is centered around the belief that conflict is the
true test of one's ability. Conflict challenges both individuals and civilizations,
forcing them to adapt, grow, and evolve. Conversely, the avoidance of conflict leads directly to
stagnation, complacency, and decay. The unit rejects simple coddling; internal struggles, when
faced and overcome independently, yield the ultimate rewards. Their banner aims to restore
balance to the battlefield.
The symbolism of their livery reflects this mission. The gear represents progress and the
continuous innovation of combat technology, replacing archaic methods. Standard colors of Black
and White represent the fundamental balance they bring to the field, while Red symbolizes the
necessary bloodshed to secure that balance.
⚔️ Ranks of the Unit
Admission into No Quarter! is highly selective and governed by three formal ranks:
- Petitioner: A fighter who has requested to join, or has been invited to
begin trials.
- Member: A fighter who has demonstrated loyalty, active participation, and
positive representation of the unit's honor.
- Swordslinger: The elite combat rank. To achieve this title, a member must
challenge and defeat every active Swordslinger individually in single combat during a formal
"fight-in".
🛠️ Innovations & Contributions
No Quarter! has significantly influenced foam-fighting technology and training. Most notably,
they pioneered the development and refinement of Plasti-Dip (PD) shield technology, spearheaded
by founder Anok. The techniques developed within the unit set a new standard for durable,
realistic, and high-performance shields.
Furthermore, they introduced lightweight weapon core technology and durability improvements in
the early wargaming days of Darkon, helping to optimize combat safety and speed. Members of the
unit continue to serve as lead instructors at prestigious training events like Amtgard's Sword

Though numbers may shift with the passing of years, the deeds, contributions, and camaraderie of
